Have One Day A Week That You Do A Large Amount Of Your Cooking

When it comes to meal planning, it is a good idea to do a large amount of your prep work on one or two days each week. Find a day that you aren't busy, and schedule a block of time to cook and prepare your meals. For example, you can make your lunches for the week by cooking your meat, slicing your veggies, preparing your grains, etc. Be sure that you don't prepare your meat too far ahead of time though because you won't want it to go bad, but remember that freezing is always great option. This makes it super easy for you to grab your already prepared lunch on your way to work, and helps you stick to your meal planning. 

Search For New Recipes Each Week

Repeating the same meals each week can get very boring and can make dieting quite difficult. Rather than getting bored with your meal planning and wanting to give up, instead search for new recipes each week. There are so many healthy recipes out there to choose from, and trying new ones will allow you to try fresh flavors and find new favorites. When you find a new recipe that you like, be sure to write it down or save it some other way so you can find it later and write down all of the ingredients that you will need to purchase for it. 

Make A Detailed Shopping List

There is nothing more frustrating than going to the store multiple times each week because you keep forgetting certain items. If you are planning your meals ahead of time, this can go a long way in decreasing these frequent shopping trips, but you can still do more. When you create your shopping list for the ingredients that you will need for the week, make sure that it is incredibly detailed. Have separate sections on your list for produce, meat, dairy, etc., so that you can complete each section before moving onto the next. This will make you less likely to forget items on your one big shopping trip, and will save your a great deal of time and frustration.
